Description
This role is specifically reserved for candidates who are a part of our J1 trainee outreach, recruitment, and placement program at Le Meridien Sheraton Charlotte Hotel. Responsible for working across several areas of our Hotel Rooms Operations team while providing an excellent guest experience in an attentive, courteous, and efficient way. Detailed training and experience plans will be developed in accordance with the J1 Visa program requirements and may include aspects such as front desk operations, guest services, lounge operations, and more.
The objective of the Sheraton Le Meridien Charlotte's Hospitality Internship Program is to provide the opportunity to learn systems, policies, procedures, and job skills to gain practical experience in the following areas of the hotel; Front Office and Room Operations. The Internship is a structured, supervised program of work, classroom and computer training that allows you to apply the: knowledge and skills learned in the workplace. This hands-on experience, as well as technical training offered, will provide marketable skills attractive to potential employers.
The hotel will provide an environment of learning, instruction, and practical experience opportunities through specific and predetermined Phases. These Phases will follow a progression with one phase leading to the next, building upon the skills and knowledge gained in the previous phase/department. Changes to the time frame, department rotation and/or training plan are permitted by the hotel General Manager or Human Resources.
The expectation of the Intern is to be committed to the training offered, develop new and/or enhance hospitality skills, work well within a team environment, take direction, completion of tasks and assignments, take initiative and responsibility within each department to ensure guest service is the priority, and complete each Phase of the Internship Training Program. This Internship will be a paid program at rate comparable to positions within in the hotel. Specific training, job skills checklists and assessments will ensure the success of the internship.

An assessment will be conducted at the completion of each department rotation to include:

• Progression of Training

High school education and relevant training and experience required.
Enrolled in a college program with major in Hospitality and Tourism.
At least one year of office environment experience.
