The landscape of cyber threats is continuously evolving, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) introducing new dimensions of risk:
AI-powered Attacks: Adversaries are leveraging AI to craft more sophisticated and evasive attacks, including adaptive malware, advanced phishing campaigns, and autonomous exploit generation.
Deepfake and Generative AI Abuse: The rise of generative AI creates new avenues for misinformation, social engineering, and highly convincing fake content, blurring the lines of digital trust.
Automated Reconnaissance and Exploitation: AI enables threat actors to rapidly identify vulnerabilities and launch automated exploitation at unprecedented scale and speed.
Evolving Evasion Techniques: Adversaries use AI to develop polymorphic code and advanced obfuscation, making traditional signature-based detection increasingly ineffective.

As the Sr. Principal Product Manager at Palo Alto Networks, you will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for the Advanced Threat Prevention security subscription, which is crucial for preventing sophisticated emerging attacks by continuously reimagining and innovating our IPS capabilities. You will bring to Palo Alto Networks exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and product leadership skills, combined with a deep technical background in cybersecurity. Most importantly, you will possess an unwavering passion and focus on protecting our customers from the most advanced threats. You will lead and collaborate with some of the best security minds in the industry, leverage a vast install base of customers, and have access to some of the richest security data to drive insights that deliver transformative security outcomes for our customers.
Your Impact
Define and Evangelize Strategic Vision: Own and articulate the long-term strategic vision and roadmap for the Advanced Threat Prevention product, ensuring alignment with the company's overarching business objectives and market leadership goals.
Drive Portfolio Growth and Innovation: Take accountability for the growth trajectory of one of the largest security products within the portfolio, continually driving an innovative and differentiated roadmap that significantly disrupts the market and expands the full potential of Advanced Threat Prevention.
Develop High-Performing Teams: Lead, coach, and mentor product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement..
Influence Cross-Organizational Strategy: Collaborate extensively with engineering, sales, marketing, and other product leadership across the organization to ensure cohesive strategy and execution, delivering best-in-class security solutions and maximizing market penetration.
Identify and Execute New Market Opportunities: Be intimately involved with the business at an executive level to identify significant growth opportunities, leveraging your deep business acumen and technical expertise to successfully enter and dominate new, high-growth markets.
Serve as a Thought Leader: Represent Palo Alto Networks externally as a key subject matter expert and evangelist for threat prevention, engaging with customers, partners, and industry analysts.
Qualifications
Your Experience
BS or MS in a technical field (e.g., EE, CS), MBA highly desirable, or equivalent military experience required.
7+ years of experience in a technical product management leadership role, preferably with cloud-based security solutions covering threat analysis, incident response, forensics, intrusion prevention, antivirus, or related technologies.
Demonstrated track record of successfully launching and scaling net new products or offerings at a portfolio level, driving significant revenue growth and market share within mature and emerging technology areas.
Proven ability to define and execute complex product strategies that result in substantial business impact and market disruption.
Exceptional analytical skills to make complex, data-driven decisions that influence long-term strategy.
Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels, from individual contributors to executive leadership and external partners

Our Product Management Team helps us do just that. Our organization and employees are committed to changing as rapidly as our industry’s threats do, and to do that, we need creative product teams to address emerging cyber threats. They provide behind-the-scenes support for our products by being a source of information on our products for our systems engineers, staying on top of the environment we sell in, and helping to implement product-wide technical solutions based on our client’s feedback and needs. As threats and technology evolve, we stay ahead to accomplish our mission.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $200000 - $260000/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
