JOB TITLE: Metallurgical Engineer
LOCATION: Mossville, IL
ON SITE/HYBRID/REMOTE: On site
SALARY: $65,000-70,000/year

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:
- Work with AMT engineers and internal clients on materials and process R&D projects
o Design and execute experimental trials
o Conduct heat treat processes with internal heat treat development lab
o Submit test samples to Met Lab for analysis; track progress
o Document all process details and test results
o Analyze/Summarize test results
o Participate in team meetings to review test results and plan experiments
- Conduct wear testing in on-site lab
o Follow safe job procedures; participate in safety audits
o Submit work orders or purchase orders to maintain equipment and consumables inventory as needed
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- High level of interaction with AMT team members (metallurgical engineers, lab technicians) and internal clients (typically design engineers or Operations/Quality personnel)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Familiarity with heat treatment or foundry manufacturing processes
- Understanding of standard and advanced Metallurgical Lab testing (ex: microhardness, optical microstructure analysis, tensile, Charpy, SEM, etc)
- Proficient with standard Office 365 software applications; experience with analytical software (ex: ImageJ) and simulation software (ex: JMatPro) is a plus
