Essential Functions
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Development of process of packaging / embedding of optical fiber into composite materials.
* Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA) on embedded fiber optic sensors
* Development of technical process of retrieving or coupling of optical fiber from the composite materials
* Lab testing fiber optic sensors embedded in composite materials
* Development of an automatic testing process for fiber optic sensors
* Setting up packaging operations as a pathway for industrial volume manufacturing
* Additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements
* Bachelor or higher in optical or electrical engineering or adjacent field.
* At least 2 years of experience in fiber optics, familiar with various fiber optic testing tools, such as fusion splicing tools, strippers for special coatings, power meters
* Strong communication skills.
* Eligible to work in US or be able to obtain a TN Visa
Training and Experience
* Experience for optical fiber drawing
* Experience with DTS, DSS, FBG interrogators is preferred.
* Experience with programming languages for automation such as LabView/Python/Matlab.
* Prior industrial experience ideally
