Who We Are:
AXIS is more than a school — we are a community movement preparing students to become the global citizens our world needs. We believe in nurturing bilingualism, academic excellence, and strong character through a multicultural, inclusive environment. Our students are empowered to lead with knowledge, empathy, and purpose in both local and global communities.
Broad Scope of the Position:
The Spanish teacher will teach core subjects (language arts, science and social studies) as well as elective subjects (art, music, and physical education) to one cohort of students for two and a half hours in the afternoon, participating in our 50/50 dual language immersion model. During the morning this position will support a veteran Spanish teacher and a teaching assistant. The daily schedule also includes lunch and recess duties and planning time. Curricula and materials are provided and are evidence-based, high-quality materials. Curriculum & Lesson Planning: Develop and implement developmentally and linguistically appropriate and challenging lessons and instructional materials that adhere to the AXIS Core Curricula and DLI (Dual Language Immersion) program guidelines.
Student Learning & Assessment: Evaluate students' academic and social progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports. Utilize both formative and summative data to adjust instruction and meet individual student needs.

Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and school programs. Collaborate with other teachers and teams (Spanish Team, Partner Language Team, Grade Level Teams, and Integrated Services staff) to assess curriculum and support student growth.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development activities to improve teaching skills and stay current with DLI best practices.
